Marinelli mug

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Marinelli beaker is used in radiation measurement technology. In it, for example, water samples containing radon are hermetically sealed and then measured with the help of proportional counter tubes or scintillation counters . The Marinelli beaker is attached to the detector for measurement . It was developed around 1950 by Leonidas D. Marinelli (1906–1974).

Thanks to their special shape, Marinelli beakers ensure optimum measurement efficiency, as the detector is surrounded by the sample.
