Mark Kirchner (Turkologist)
Mark Kirchner (born February 2, 1960 in Haiger ) is a German Turkologist and Islamic scholar.
From 1980 to 1989 Kirchner studied Turkish Studies, Islamic Studies and Islamic Philology at the University of Mainz , where he received his doctorate in 1989. After various activities as a research assistant, substitute professor and visiting professor in Sweden and China, he has been professor of Turkish Studies at the University of Giessen since 2004 .
