Markus Kettler
Markus Kettler (born August 23, 1964 ) is a former German professional footballer .
Kettler came from the youth of MSV Duisburg and in 1983 made the jump from the A-Juniors directly to the professional squad of MSV. In the 1983/84 season, the MSV Duisburg took 3rd place in the 2nd Bundesliga , which entitled to the relegation game against the 16th of the 1st Bundesliga. The games against Eintracht Frankfurt were lost in the final accounts (0: 5 and 1: 1).
Two years later, the MSVler surprisingly rose from bottom of the table in the league. Kettler was only used sporadically during the three years, and he couldn't get beyond the role of supplementary player. In total, the midfielder made 24 second division appearances.
