Martha sisters

Martha Sisters will become members of the Congregation of St. Martha called, a religious community in the Roman Catholic Church . The congregation was founded in South India in 1978 ; the parent company is located in Kattappana in the state of Kerala .

The community has around 300 sisters worldwide. The focus of the work is India. Some sisters also live in Germany and Italy. The Martha Sisters mostly work in old people's homes, hospitals as well as in schools, kindergartens, children's homes and parishes. With the money they generate, the sisters support a mission and an orphanage in India.
