The Martin Heidegger Society is a scientific association for the promotion of research in the spirit of Martin Heidegger's thinking . It was founded on November 11, 1985 in Heidegger's hometown of Meßkirch .

To this end, the company organizes regular conferences and workshops. It also publishes two series, the annual editions and the Martin-Heidegger-Gesellschaft series . The annual editions contain previously unpublished texts by and about Martin Heidegger and are produced exclusively for members of the association in a one-time limited edition. The series, on the other hand, is freely available and brings together the contributions from the conferences. Since 2009 it has been part of the Heidegger Forum series by Klostermann-Verlag .

In addition, the society promotes the publication of Heidegger's writings, especially the complete edition , and cooperates in this regard with the German Literature Archive Marbach and the Martin Heidegger Archive of the city of Meßkirch.

With 629 members (as of October 11, 2009), the Martin Heidegger Society is one of the largest philosophical societies in Germany.

According to Günter Figal (from 2003 to 2015), Harald Seubert has been chairman of the board of the Martin-Heidegger-Gesellschaft since 2016 . Heidegger's grandson Arnulf Heidegger chairs the Board of Trustees.
