Martin Dihm

Martin Dihm is a German EU diplomat .

Dihm received his doctorate in 1989 with a thesis at the Institute for Agricultural Economics at the University of Göttingen .

He is Deputy Head of Unit in the European Commission's Directorate-General for Trade .

On September 15, 2010, EU foreign affairs representative Catherine Ashton announced that Dihm would be appointed EU ambassador to Papua New Guinea .
