Martin Gebhardt

Martin Gebhardt is a Swiss oboist .

Born and raised in Basel , Gebhardt received his training at the music academies in Rotterdam and Zurich , where he completed his studies with Thomas Indermühle in 1988 with a concert diploma. He attended master classes in chamber music with the flautist André Jaunet , who became an important mentor to him. Martin Gebhardt was solo oboist in the symphony orchestra in Switzerland and Germany until 1998.

Since then, the founder of the Aulos Quartet has devoted himself entirely to chamber music and solo activities as well as teaching.

The Aulos Quartet was formed in 1999 as the Zurich oboe quartet . After the successful start with various concerts in Switzerland during the 2000 season, international appearances followed, especially in the Czech Republic, the USA and Germany.

Two CDs have now been released with this quartet .

In 2007 a recording of César Franck's A major sonata with the pianist Nadja Dan Cerkavska was released .
