timeline

The shortage of razor blades in the Wehrmacht prompted Helmut Beermann, then 20, in 1940 to register a "commission business in razor blades" as a trade.

In American captivity, he first saw a "utility knife", a cutter - a utility knife with replaceable blade.

The first knife models of this type were not easy to market in the 1950s and 60s. You cut paper, plastic foils, cardboard boxes, etc. like with a pocket knife or kitchen knife. The hobby wave that began in the 1960s greatly stimulated sales of these products.

In 1976 the company presented a TÜV-tested safety knife with an automatically retractable blade - the professional . A whole range of safety knives followed the Profi model . Today there are safety knives like the Secupro Martego or Secupro Megasafe with a fully automatic blade retraction, which are also patented by Martor.

In 2009 the company was handed over to the third generation and the new managing partner Jan Hendricks took over the company. A strategic realignment as well as the renewal of management functions in all areas with a clear objective of technological lead, as well as highly qualified employees should continue to form the pillars of success in the future.
