Massacre of ip
The Ip massacre took place on the morning of September 14, 1940 in the village of Ip in the Kreischgebiet , when the Hungarian army , apparently supported by local vigilante groups , killed 158 Romanian civilians while marching in after the Second Vienna Arbitration .
In 1990 a memorial to the victims was erected in Ip and the Romanian army produced a documentary for Romanian television.
