The English term masthead means:

  • in sailing shipbuilding the top of a ship's mast, see mast top
  • for British newspapers and magazines, the newspaper head
  • In the case of US newspapers and magazines, an indication of the origin printed on the front page, comparable to the imprint required by law in Germany
  • In online marketing, a large-format online advertising medium in the head of the YouTube homepage
