Masthead

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The top of a ship's mast is called a mast top (also mast top ) . A lightning rod , a radio antenna , a radar reflector and a clicker (for indicating the wind direction) are usually attached to the top . On yachts smaller (less than 20 meters in length) is the combined electrical red and green position lamp in the top.

If the yacht also has a dirk due to its size , it is also attached to the masthead, the other end is attached to the main boom (rear end of the main boom) or is deflected there to the attachment point on the main boom.
