Matching (dating agency)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Under Matching refers to a method of online matchmaking . Many online dating agencies use a matching process to suggest partners to their members who are a good match for them. Characteristics that are particularly relevant in a partnership are measured using personality tests, a personality profile is created and then suitable partners are determined using an algorithm. The personal profile is compared with all other members from the database and checked for similarities such as hobbies, habits and interests. Serious dating agencies advertise that this matching process means that the chance of a harmonious and long-term partnership is particularly high.

As a rule, members of an online dating agency receive partner suggestions stating how well they match each other based on the matching result (matching points). Then, in a second step, you can look at the profile with the personal details of the suggested person and contact us if you are interested.

An alternative matching process is the use of profile pictures. A selection is only made on the basis of the external characteristics (profile picture).

Examples

The English-language singles exchange OkCupid , for example, uses a matching algorithm . Matching takes place there via a multiple-choice test , which is mandatory when you register.

The single exchange Finya, on the other hand, does not use matching.
