Matzing is a settlement in the market town of Scharnstein in the Gmunden district in Upper Austria.

The settlement is located southwest of Scharnstein at the transition from the flysch zone to the area of ​​the Northern Limestone Alps . It is a district of Mühldorf , in whose cadastral municipality it is also located. After heavy settlement activity in the second half of the 20th century, Matzing is now one of the most populous districts in the municipality, which is why a 200,000 liter elevated drinking water tank was built in Matzing.
