The Mausoleum of Yusuf ibn Kusejir is a mausoleum in Nakhchivan in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic . The building was erected in 1162 by the builder Ajemi ibn Abubekr as a tomb for the general Jussuf ibn Kusejir .

Building

The octagonal brick building is covered by a tent roof. The side walls are emphasized by pilaster strips and are lined with patterned tiles. A frieze filled with a Kufic inscription runs under the cornice . The entrance to the building is to the west, above it are the year of construction, builder and the name of the buried. The arched portal is supported on three-quarter columns with decorated capitals.

Inside there is a large chamber above, below the burial chamber, into which a side staircase leads. The pilaster strips inside are made of raw brick, the walls are smoothly plastered.
