McMaster & James was a Canadian pop duo from Winnipeg , Manitoba , Canada .

The group was named after its main members, Luke McMaster and Rob James (singer), who got together in 1997. Her self-titled debut and at the same time only CD was released in February 2000 under the label BMG. In the same year a tour followed including appearances as the opening group as part of the Christina Aguilera tour in Canada. Outside of North America, the band is or was relatively little known. The duo was successful with hits like Love Wins Everytime , Sweet Sensation , I Understand and Thank You , which received a lot of 'airplay' on Canadian radio stations.
