Media-independent news service

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The media-independent news service (short: MUND or resist @ nd-MUND ) is a left-wing online service in Austria , which was founded on February 1, 2000 as a medium of the protest movement against the governing coalition of the ÖVP and the FPÖ . The media-independent news service appears as an e-mail newsletter and on the MUND homepage; an imprint is not given.

The aim of the project is the non-censored, fast and regular information on socio-politically relevant topics. In the first few months, the contributions of the authors of the MUND dealt mainly with actions and debates that were carried out in the context of the movement against the blue-black government . Later the topic expanded to include resistance and anti-racism in a global context, news from the movement critical of globalization and other political topics.

criticism

The Austrian Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution and the Fight against Terrorism criticized the media-independent intelligence service in its reports on the protection of the constitution in 2004 and 2005. According to this, the site would belong to the "best known and most frequently used internet platforms of the left-wing extremist spectrum in Austria" .
