history
The promenade of the old town was replaced by a monotonous concrete wall after the destruction of the Second World War . The aim of the project called nova riva after the turn of the millennium was to redesign the promenade . The proposal for the sea organ comes from the architect Nikola Bašić as part of the project. The opening took place on April 15, 2005.
The sea organ became a tourist magnet and popular place to stay for the population. In addition, steps to the sea were added later. There is a system of plastic pipes and sound boxes under the steps.
