Kerbourgnec megalithic complexes

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The megalithic complexes of Kerbourgnec include a cromlech ( stone circle ) and a row of stones . They are located in the Kerbourgnec district of Saint-Pierre-Quiberon on the Quiberon peninsula in the Morbihan department in Brittany in France .

The cromlech

The cromlech

The Cromlech is an only partially preserved stone circle. It is located in a densely built-up area and borders on an enclosed property ( 47 ° 30 ′ 57.5 ″  N , 3 ° 7 ′ 48.6 ″  W ). The remaining 40 menhirs with a size of up to 1.8 m suggest a former diameter of the stone circle of about 100 m.

The Cromlech is about a kilometer south of the Roc'h en Aud .

The row of stones

The row of stones

Near the Cromlech is a row of stones ( 47 ° 31 ′ 0.9 ″  N , 3 ° 7 ′ 42.8 ″  W ), the five rows of which can be followed up to the beach. At low tide you can see a number of menhirs, similar to Er Lannic's , submerged in the water.
