Megumi Tachikawa ( Japanese 立 川 恵 , Tachikawa Megumi ; * February 22, 19xx in Tokyo Prefecture , Japan ) is the pseudonym of a Japanese manga artist . Her works are aimed at girls and can therefore be assigned to the Shōjo genre.

Life

Tachikawa sent the manga magazine Nakayoshi in the early 1990s to the short story 16-sai no Tiara , for which she received the 1992 Newcomer Prize Nakayoshi Shinjin Manga Shō . The work was published in February 1992 in Nakayoshi Deluxe , an additional magazine to Nakayoshi , and was the illustrator's first publication. More short stories for Nakayoshi followed .

From June 1993 to February 2004 she drew her first lengthy manga, Netsuretsu Taifūmusume , which has about 320 pages and is about a female descendant of Son Goku . Her second comic series is titled Yumekui Annainin and appeared in 1994 first in Run Run and then in Nakayoshi . The main characters in the 170-page manga, which consists of several self-contained chapters, are a girl and a befriended monster who lives on dreams. The two help make children's dreams and wishes come true.

That same year, Tachikawa began her first major hit, Kaito St. Tail , which she worked on until 1996. The over 1,200 page manga was also implemented as an anime and translated into several languages. In Kaito St. Tail , the author tells of a girl who - leading a double life - steals stolen objects. After completing this manga, she drew Dream Saga about a girl who meets her friends in a dream world. For Dream Saga Tachikawa was nominated in 1999 for the Kōdansha Manga Prize . From 1999 to 2002 Dennō Shōjo Mink appeared in Nakayoshi . The approximately 1,000-page manga tells of a girl who finds a CD from the future and becomes a popular pop music singer through it.

Since 2003 Tachikawa has only drawn dōjinshi such as Delivery Boy , which she publishes herself, and designs video games.
