Double neck guitar

A multi-neck guitar (engl. Multi-neck guitar) is a guitar having a plurality of fingerboard reinforced necks . It is available as an electric guitar as well as an acoustic guitar . Although multi-necked guitars are very common these days, they are not a modern invention. Evidence for multi-necked guitars and lutes goes back to the Renaissance.

The best-known multi-neck guitar is the double neck guitar, the most famous form of which is an electric guitar with twelve strings on the upper neck and six on the lower neck. Other combinations, such as a six-string guitar and bass guitar , a fretted and a non-fretted neck , or any other combination of neck and pickup types, are also represented. Two necks allow the guitarist to quickly switch between different guitar sounds without having to change the instrument time-consuming.
