Meir ben Simon ha-Me'ili

Meir ben Simon ha-Me'ili was a 13th century Halachist in Narbonne and a sharp critic of the emerging Kabbalah . He was the author of an apologetic work entitled milchämät mitzwah ('compulsory war'). It is said to be based on discussions with a Bishop of Narbonne.
