Master of the Delbecq writing passion

As a master of Delbecq writer Passion is Flemish woodcutter referred to the 1475 or 1490 a series of woodcuts with scenes of the Passion has created. First, in modern times, a series of 20 of these woodcuts glued into a manuscript was rediscovered. It got its name after the previous owners. The manuscript had been in the possession of Jean-Baptiste Delbecq from 1833 and was acquired by Ludwig Schreiber in 1890. More woodcuts of the series were found later.

The woodcuts were used, for example, in books published by the Flemish publishers and printers Adriaen van Berghen 1500, Jansz van Woerden 1518 or Henrich Eckert van Homberch 1518.
