As a master of the Habsburg one is late Gothic painter called, of 1490-1520 in North Tyrol worked. The artist, who is not known by name, was given his emergency name because he gave two of these kings the facial features of Habsburg rulers in his picture Adoration of the Magi . The work, which has only survived in fragments, shows the facial features of Emperor Maximilian I and, behind them, a profile of his father Friedrich III.

The style of the master of the Habsburgs is on the one hand rooted in the local Tyrolean painting style of the time, but also shows a strong influence of contemporary directions in Dutch painting.

More recently, speculations have been expressed that the artist could be Niclas Reiser, who was active between 1498 and 1512.
