The name Meister der Manchester-Madonna , also Meister von Manchester , is the emergency name for an unknown painter from the immediate vicinity of Michelangelo Buonarroti. Under this designation, art history summarized a group of paintings that they grouped around the so-called Madonna Manchester in London , National Gallery . In their opinion it was a "not very talented painter" ( Federico Zeri ), but who was in close contact with Michelangelo himself and who was allowed to use his sketches and drawings for his own works and in whose pictures Michelangelo sometimes intervened to support.
