Meitschibei

Meitschibei ( Bern German for “girl's legs”), also known as croissant viennois in western Switzerland , is a Swiss nut pastry.

It is made from a grated dough loosened with yeast and a hazelnut filling. The filling is applied to the rolled-out pieces of dough and the dough is rolled, the roll is then bent into a horseshoe. This shape gives the pastry its name. The pastry is before baking with egg scraped and baked for 15 minutes at 190-200 ° C.

Because of the gender-sensitive language , the biscuits are occasionally offered under the name "lucky charm".
