Query by Humming
Query by Humming (QbH) is a content-based audio search that enables pieces of music to be found by humming, whistling or the like.
The hummed piece of music is processed by dividing it into segments and then normalizing them. The result is then compared with an existing database of pieces of music using a distance metric . This database contains already processed, easily indexable time series of pieces of music.
There are now some online implementations of this technique.
