Members of Mayday
Members of Mayday was a German music project by the DJ WestBam and the music producer Klaus Jankuhn .
history
WestBam and Jankuhn have been producing the anthem for the annual Mayday techno event since 1991 . Most of the pieces of music followed the motto of the Mayday taking place. The Mayday Anthem and Forward Ever Backward Never were released as solo singles by WestBam in 1992.
In the following years the two producers formed a joint act and called it Members of Mayday. By 2013, 18 singles climbed into the German charts , ten of them made it into the top 20. Probably the most famous piece of the formation was Sonic Empire from 1997, which was at number 1 in Germany, number 15 in Austria , number 7 in the Switzerland and 59th place in Great Britain climbed.
In February 2014, due to irreconcilable differences with the organizer i-Motion, WestBam announced its withdrawal from Mayday and thus the end of the project. The main reasons were human and artistic alienation.
The MAYDAY Masters was launched as a follow-up project and was renamed the Friends of Mayday the following year. WestBam advised the organizers not to tamper with the music of the Members of Mayday.
