The Mendelssohn Ice Shelf is an ice shelf in Mendelssohn Inlet on the north coast of the Beethoven Peninsula on the West Antarctic Alexander I Island . It is fed by the Hushen , Reuning and Holoviak glaciers .

The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1977 based on the bay of the same name. It is named after the German composer Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy (1809–1847).
