Menemachos (medic)
Menemachus of Aphrodisias was a doctor of antiquity. He was a student of Themison who lived in the time of the Emperor Augustus .
Menemachus belonged to the methodical school. According to Galenos CIV 684, however, he deviated from this school in some points. In Oreibasios some smaller fragments of Menemachus have come down to us. They deal with leeches and depilatories (Orib. II. 72.417). Menemachos recipes can be found in Celsus VI 9, 5 and Gal. XII 625.
