Meng Yi
Meng Yi (died 210 BC) was a Chinese public official during the reign of the Qin Dynasty . Most recently he held the office of minister.
Life
Meng Yi came from an influential family. His grandfather Meng Ao had already served as a general for King Zhuangxiang of Qin. He and his older brother Meng Tian were considered close confidants of Qin Shihuangdi and enjoyed his respect, which is why the emperor soon appointed him minister.
In this position, he incurred the hostility of head eunuch Zhao Gao when he was convicted of a crime he had committed. After the death of the emperor on September 10, 210 BC Zhao Gao took revenge by forging a conspiracy with Chancellor Li Si , through which Meng Yi was captured in Dai and killed a little later.
