Mass flow verification

The term volume flow verification comes from waste law . It is the annual proof of the fulfillment of the obligations of dual systems ( § 6 Abs. 3 VerpackV ) and self- disposal ( § 6 Abs. 1 und 2 VerpackV) to the respective highest state authority responsible for waste management or the authority determined by it via the one in Germany collected and recycled sales packaging. It contains data on the proper collection , sorting and recycling of sales packaging, broken down according to the individual materials.

The packaging ordinance is the basis for the quantity flow verification . The requirements for the volume flow verification of the self-disposal companies and the dual systems are specified in Appendix I No. 2 and No. 3, Paragraph 4 of the Packaging Ordinance. These largely coincide. Evidence for the past year must be provided by May 1st of the following year. It shows which quantities have been collected and which quantities have been recycled. The quantities are regulated in Appendix I No. 1 Paragraph 1 to Section 6 of the Packaging Ordinance (glass 75%, tinplate 70%, aluminum 60%, paper etc. 70%, plastic packaging 60%). The volume flow certificate must show that the recovery rates set out in Annex I No. 1 Packaging Ordinance have been achieved. The fulfillment of the collection and recovery requirements must be certified by an independent expert on the basis of the evidence. The system provider or the self- disposal company must deposit the certificate with the body set up in accordance with Section 32 (2) of the Environmental Audit Act.
