Menhir from Vaccil Vecchiu

The menhir of Vaccil-Vecchiu (also called Vaccil Vecchio ) stands on the Vaccil Vecchiu plateau , south of the hamlet of Grossa in the Corse-du-Sud department on the Mediterranean island of Corsica in France .

The very slim, smooth, round menhir from Vaccil-Vecchiu is about 2.9 meters high. A few meters from the menhir are some long stones near a wire fence. The menhir could be a remnant of a broken row of stones.

About 800 m north is the dolmen of Bizzicu Rossu mentioned in 1893 by Adrien de Mortillet. It consists of two supporting stones and a granite ceiling plate . The height is about 1.6 m and its chamber measures a little less than 2.0 m. A few meters away is a large menhir.
