The menhirs of Stanerandy (also called Stanerandy Stones, Stanerandy Tumulus or Stane Randa) stand east of Birsay , near Finstown on the Orkney island of Mainland in Scotland .

Menhirs of Stanerandy

The menhirs of Stanerandy stand about 2.0 m apart, on a small, badly damaged cairn about 2.0 m high . The space between them is largely filled with smaller reading stones , so that the original shape and size of the hill cannot be recognized. The mound is on a ridge and is likely a cairn to which the two stones were later added.

The northwest stone is 1.6 m high, 68 cm wide at the base, tapers to 41 cm and is up to 23 cm thick.

The southeast stone is a 0.6 m high stump. The width (at the base) is 66 cm and the average thickness is 17 cm.
