Menhir "Della Stazione"
The menhir “Della Stazione” ( 40 ° 11 ′ 57.5 ″ N , 18 ° 14 ′ 6.7 ″ E ) stands a few meters west of the “Stazione Zollino” ( 40 ° 11 ′ 56.5 ″ N , 18 ° 14 ′ 14 ″ O ) from which the name of Mehir comes. The imposing, slender 4.3 m high almost square column (30 × 40 cm) was built in the 2nd or 1st millennium BC. Erected. It consists of rocks from the province of Lecce . Its surface looks like it has been hammered.
Menhir "Sant'Anna"
The menhir “Sant'Anna” ( 40 ° 12 ′ 7 ″ N , 18 ° 15 ′ 3.5 ″ E ), which is similarly designed, is located south of the village, near the church “Chiesa di Sant'Anna” ( 40 ° 12 '14.2 " N , 18 ° 14' 58.1" E ). The stone is 3.1 m high. A cross is engraved on its north side. The legend tells that near the stele was the domicile of a powerful tribe, whose chief was buried with all his treasures at this point and in whose honor the menhir was built.
