Menippe (daughter of Peneius)
Menippe ( Greek Μενίππη ) is a figure in Greek mythology .
She is a daughter of Peneius . She marries Pelasgos , her son is Phrastor . It appears at Dionysius of Halicarnassus , who introduces the legends known to him about the origin of the Tyrrhenians . Dionysius quotes Hellanikos of Lesbos , according to which the Tyrrhenians can be identified with the Pelasgians . Menippe is presented here as the ancestor of the Pelasgians and therefore also of the Tyrrhenians.
