People, Animals & Doctors was a so-called veterinarian - documentation of the genre " Doku-Soap ", which was produced by Fandango Film TV Internet Production GmbH and broadcast between 2006 and 2012 as a separate format by the private television station VOX .

format

The 48-minute episodes showed the daily work of veterinarians at different workplaces. Reports and stories came from veterinary clinics , zoos , veterinary practices and home visits. The format was geared towards the target group of 14 to 49 year olds; in this segment the show had a market share of up to 11.8 percent.

The TV broadcaster VOX has now discontinued the format; the editorial office was dissolved in October 2012.

Offshoot

VOX intended to build a weekly offshoot of the previous format. In April 2009, the program's editorial team was looking for young people who wanted to do a trial internship with one of the country veterinarians known from the series. The casting was aimed primarily at high school graduates who intended to study veterinary medicine. In June 2009 the project, which was accompanied by the camera, was broadcast. Furthermore, the five-part pilot film of a documentary series was broadcast for the first time in September 2009 under the title People, Animals & Doctors - Die Chance .

Prices

In October 2009, the series format was awarded the media prize of the Federal Veterinary Association “for high quality journalistic contributions” .
