Human catchers
The human scavengers (also: Witch Catcher ) is a non-lethal Polearm from the Middle Ages , the trapping volatile and for combating cavalry was used.
It is often an open metal semicircle with a snap-back V-shaped inlet that prevents escape in the opposite direction; barbs or thorns are attached inside. This device is placed around the fugitive's legs, arms or neck and prevents progress.
People catchers come in different designs in different countries.
In the 18th century, human catchers were still used by the Prussian army to catch deserters .
