Meringer Au

The Meringer Au is a district in Augsburg-Haunstetten-Siebenbrunn . It is completely located in the southern part of the nature reserve Stadtwald Augsburg .

history

The Meringer Au was owned by the Duchy of Bavaria and was an important fattening zone for oxen imported from Hungary . In the 17th century the capacity was 700 animals.
