The Schizogony or merogony is a form of asexual reproduction in unicellular organisms , especially among the Apicomplexa . Here, numerous daughter nuclei arise from the original nucleus through simple mitoses in the cell body , from which new individuals ( merozoites ) emerge after the disintegration of the mother cell, the schizont (these usually have eight nuclei in malaria tertiana ).
