Measurement image

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A measurement image is created by taking a picture with a high-precision photo camera , called the image measurement chamber or image measurement camera , the internal orientation of which is sufficiently constant, known and reproducible. The geometry of the depicted object can be calculated from a measurement image using the methods of photogrammetry . This measurement is carried out with optical-mechanical evaluation devices .

Measurement images are also aids in astronomy and space travel, see astrophotography and satellite cameras .
