A metal bed is a special form of bed . It often differs from other beds in the optical aspects, which are particularly evident in the design of the frame. A metal bed usually has a head and foot section, which in their shape represent the characteristics of the metal beds. It is not uncommon for these two elements to be characterized by artfully curved arches. Older metal beds in particular do not have a slatted frame , but a metallic bracing is connected to the frame.

With regard to hygiene regulations and the possibility of sterilizing the entire bed, metal beds are also used in the clinic and care sector.
