metathesis
The term metathesis ( ancient Greek μετάθεσις metáthesis , German 'conversion' ) denotes:
- in phonetics / phonology the exchange of sounds, see metathesis (phonetics)

- In chemistry, metathesis denotes various reactions in which groups or partial structures of reactants are exchanged, see metathesis (chemistry)
