The Mevlana Mosque ( Dutch Mevlana Moskee , Turkish Mevlana Camii ) is a mosque in the northwest of Rotterdam in the Netherlands , which mainly serves the Turkish-Dutch community. The mosque, named after the Islamic mystic Jalal ad-Din ar-Rumi , was built in 2001 and has two minarets. The mosque belongs to the “Hollanda Diyanet Vakfı” foundation of the Turkish Diyanet . The church was voted the most attractive building in Rotterdam in 2006.
