Mianne excavator
Mianne Bagger (born December 25, 1966 in Denmark ) is a professional golfer who moved to Australia with her parents in 1979 . Bagger has been playing golf since she was eight. In pictures she can be seen at the age of 14 with the golfer Greg Norman .
Life
Bagger had been assigned the male sex at birth and had sex reassignment surgery in 1995 . After this operation, she played for the first time in an amateur golf tournament in 1998, namely in a women's tournament. In 1999, 2001 and 2002 she became the South Australian amateur champion.
In 2004 she became the first transsexual golfer to take part in a women's professional tournament, the Australia Open, after the Australian Golf Association changed its rules for female golfers with a male history. Then she fought for the right to take part in professional tournaments in Europe, South Africa and the USA. The golf associations there now allow women who were not female at birth to participate, based on the rules of the IOC from 2004.
