Michael Emmert (born May 15, 1954 in Bad Neustadt an der Saale ) is a German artist specializing in painting. He studied pedagogy, art education and philosophy in Würzburg. Various activities in the social field followed, as well as editorial and journalistic activities, including for the cultural magazines Blattwerk and Quer.

First exhibition in 1980, since 2003 he has been working as a freelance artist. His works include oil, acrylic and watercolor paintings, digital or digitized art, drawings and mixed media, as well as material experiments. According to his own statement, the central theme of his work is "the interweaving of relationships between color, shape and structure, with one element predominating depending on the image". His pictures developed "out of themselves" without a fixed idea. His basic experimental attitude and experimentation with unusual materials are fundamental.
