Migration (genetics)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

When migrating the designated population genetics import and migration of individuals between different populations of a species. This is an exchange between the gene pool of populations instead of ( gene flow ). If the migration rate is high enough, inbreeding and homozygosity of small populations can be reduced and the effects of genetic drift are also reduced through migration.
