Microstructure image

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Microstructure images are photos , lettering or other graphics that have been rasterized. In contrast to the usual rasterization of images, a small pattern called a microstructure is used here as the basis for the rasterization.

If the microstructure image is viewed from a greater distance, the impression of the underlying image predominates, while the microstructure can be clearly seen from close up.

The process was used, among other things, to give tickets purchased online (admission ticket) for the 2006 World Cup a certain degree of protection against forgery . Here the entire ticket was rasterized with a microstructure, so that individual parts of the ticket could only be changed with great effort.
