Milk production battle
The milk production battle was in the era of National Socialism , a competition to promote milk production during the Second World War .
On March 6, 1940, the Reich Ministry of Food opened the first competition as part of the milk production battle . Certificates and monetary bonuses were awarded to those farmers who delivered milk to the dairies in excess of the quantities stipulated for the respective area .
The competition envisaged the establishment of a milk performance committee, which was supposed to advise the producers on the optimal feeding as well as on the care and keeping of dairy cows .
