Milk field

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The term milk field or milk gland field is a technical term from the field of zoology in the field of reproduction .

The monotons (egg-laying mammals) also differ from the live-bearing mammals ( marsupials and higher mammals ) in that they do not have teats to supply their young animals with breast milk when they are infants . Instead, they have around 150 mammary glands in their fur in a precisely defined area (field) where milk comes out. This area is called the milk field.
