The military recognition medal is a military award of the Republic of Austria .

history

The Military Recognition Medal was introduced in 2006 by the Federal Ministry for National Defense and its design follows the tradition of the Austro-Hungarian Military Merit Medal .

Award criteria

The Military Recognition Medal can be awarded to people who have made outstanding contributions to national military defense through outstanding achievements in the military or civilian field.

Appearance

The military recognition medal is circular, patinated in bronze and has a diameter of 40 mm, on both sides a raised edge and an eyelet. The front shows two lines of the writing “Signum Laudis”, which is surrounded by a laurel wreath open at the top. The reverse of the medal shows the military emblem with the inscription "Federal Ministry for National Defense". The triangular ribbon is white, 45 mm wide, has a ponceau central stripe, two ponceau stripes and a ponceau edge stripe on both sides.
